Katrine studied music at King’s College, Cambridge, gained a Master’s degree in piano accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed her training as an opera coach and répétiteur at the National Opera Studio. She has since built a career as a choral conductor, vocal coach, accompanist and church musician. Her work has covered a wide range, from orchestral keyboard at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden under the inspiring batons of Antonio Pappano and Charles Mackerras, to opera workshop-leading in prisons, and from conducting an international festival massed-choir of 3,000 singers in northern Italy to directing an orchestra of young disabled musicians at the Bristol Beacon. Her adaptations of classical repertoire are used by disabled orchestras across the UK. In addition Katrine has worked as a vocal coach for English National Opera and headed several large-scale choral concerts of international school children at the Cadogan Hall, London, collaborating with Oscar-winning composer Michel Legrand and Tony Award-winning composer of Les Miserables Claude-Michel Schönberg. She is currently Musical Director of Wincanton Choral Society and Priddy Singers, Acting Musical Director of Fairford & District Choral Society and Director of Music at St. Mark’s, Swindon. Katrine grew up in Taunton and now lives in Bath.

Bath Choral Society are pleased to have George Bevan as accompanist. George was a chorister at St. Mary’s Warwick, where he also had his first organ lessons with Paul Trepte. From there he has won scholarships to Wellington College, and then to the Royal College of Music where he continued his organ studies with Richard Popplewell and Timothy Bond, and piano with Yu Chun Yee. As a student at the RCM George won every major organ prize and gave many recitals, including at St. Mary’s Warwick, Newcastle Cathederal and the Temple Church in London. During this time he also held the post of organist at St. James’s Muswell Hill, and it was there that he discovered a passion for directing choral music and for teaching which has remained with him ever since. George held teaching posts at Channing School in Highgate, Pangbourne College and Rugby School before being appointed Director of Music at Wycombe Abbey School in 2003. Since 2009 he has been Director of Music at Monkton Combe School, and in January 2022 he takes up the post of Head of Academic Music at Downside School, Stratton-on-the-Fosse.
